SPORT :: KYOKUSHINKAN KARATE-DO FEDERATION (RUSSIA)

The METROPOL Group of companies actively supports sporting events. In 2004 the Kyokushinkan Karate-do Federation was established. The Federation is headed by Mikhail Slipenchuk. The Federation seeks to continue the tradition of Kyokushinkan karate-do in Russia and unite people practicing Kyokushinkan karate-do in Russia.

Recently the open competition has been held, now preparations for a world championship are underway.

On May 23, 2004 the Youth Open Team Cup of the Kyokushinkan Karate-do Federation was held. The competition aimed at promoting healthy life style and sport among children and young people.

On May 28-29, 2004 the men's Kyokushinkan Karate-do Open International Competition was held in which the best athletes from Russia, the CIS and abroad participated.

The main referee was Kancho Hatsuo Royama (9th dan), the President of the International Kyokushinkan Karate-do Federation and the Kyokushin Syogakukai Federation.

There is a need to organize competition on a regular basis, as athletes are show high levels of mastery. Following the Federation Cup competition, a national team will be formed to participate in the Kyokushin Karate World Championship, Moscow, September 10-11, 2005.
