MBC Corporation Director General O. Mikhaylenko took part in a working visit of the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District A. Kvashnin to the Republic of Buryatia.

Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District A. Kvashnin staged a working visit to the Republic of Buryatia on July from 2 to 4. He was accompanied on the visit by MBC Corporation Director General, General Director of the Transbaikalia Development Corporation O. Mikhaylenko.
The visit was conducted in order to assess the progress of investment projects being implemented on the territory of the republic within the context of the general Siberian Development Strategy. On July 4 a meeting was held in the Republic of Buryatia’s Governments Hall on the subject of the comprehensive socioeconomic development of Republic of Buryatia. Besides the already-named officials, the meeting was attended by Irkutsk Region Acting Governor I. Yesipovsky, representatives of the Administration of Republic of Buryatia, and the heads of the SUEK OJSC, the Buryatzoloto OJSC, the Baikal Timber Company OJSC, the Golden East – Siberia LLC, the Orekitkan Mining Company LLC, the Hujir Enterprise LLC, and others. The meeting concluded with the signature of an Agreement on creating conditions for a Public Private Partnership in the course of the implementation of investment projects focused on the Republic of Buryatia’s socioeconomic development.
After the meeting, a press conference was staged for federal and regional media representatives in which A. Kvashnin summed up his two-day visit’s results. He outlined his vision for the ways to develop Siberian and Transbaikalia territories, and spoke of the need to improve the level of cooperation between regional authorities and investors. Republic of Buryatia President and Government Chairman V. Nagovitsyn, and Irkutsk Oblast Acting Governor I. E. Yesipovsky also took part in the press conference.
In the course of the press conference, the heads of the MBC Corporation, the state-owned Russian Technologies corporation, and the Rusinvestpartner CJSC told reporters about their companies’ plans to implement various projects in the Republic of Buryatia. In particular, O. Mikhaylenko and V. Potylitsyn announced that on the previous day, MBC Corporation and the Rusinvestpartner CJSC signed a Memorandum of Intent concerning the acquisition by Rusinvestpartner of a participating interest in the Ozernoye and Kholodninskoye projects.
