The construction project for Ozerny Mining and Processing Plant will be presented at Mining and Asia Focus 2010 conference
A delegation from MBC Corporation to take part in Mining
and Asia Focus 2010, a major industrial investment conference to be
held in Shanghai from May 11 to 14, 2010
MBC Corporation’s Deputy General Director S.N. Garichev and
Deputy Technical Director A.V. Perfiliev are planning to hold a
series of meetings with major Chinese steel companies that are
potential buyers of coal from the Ozerny Mining and Processing
Plant. Talks are also to be held with potential suppliers of mining
and processing equipment and infrastructure elements.
An important part of MBC Corporation’s business program in
Shanghai will be a speech by S.N. Garichev on May 12 at 16.30 in
which he will present the draft project for the construction of the
Ozerny Mining and Processing plant.
This year, the event’s organizers expect that the conference
will bring together mining industry professionals from the entire
Asia-Pacific region, including Russia, Kazakhstan, India,
Australia, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The market of Russia’s southern neighbor is of particular
importance for the development of the Ozerny deposit. During the
first phase, the company plans to supply about half the zinc and
lead concentrate produced at the plant to China. Attracting
investors from China (along with investments from other countries)
to the development of the deposit is one of the most important
tasks the MBC Corporation is facing. We remind you that a
working meeting was held in Moscow last March between S.N.
Garichev, the company’s Deputy CEO, and Zhang Guobao, Vice Chairman
of China’s National Development Commission and Head of the
country’s Energy Office. Among other things on the agenda was the
investment project for the development of the Ozerny deposit and
construction of the ore dressing plant on the site.
