Ozerny Mining and Processing Plant, Nazarovskoye deposit to be managed directly

In early April 2010 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation granted the request of MBC Corporation for permission to acquire the rights that enable the functions of the sole executive body of Ozerny Mining and Processing Plant OJSC and the rights that enable the functions of the sole executive body of Nazarovskoye LLC.
The FAS decision allows completing the stage of optimizing the ownership and management structure of Metropol Group’s investment projects this year, which will allow making more efficient use of material and financial resources and better expedite the adoption and implementation of decisions in the companies involved in the group’s mining business, namely, Ozerny Mining and Nazarovskoye LLC.
The Ozernoye and Nazarovskoye deposits are located in the Yeravninsky district of the Republic of Buryatia. The ore from the deposits will serve as raw material for the Ozerny plant currently under construction, which will produce 740,000 metric tons of zinc concentrate and 110,000 metric tons of lead concentrate per year. The total gold resource potential of the two deposits combined is about 40 metric tons of gold.
