Varyag Memorial Complex in Scotland Celebrates Fifth Anniversary!
8 September marked the fifth anniversary of the Varyag Memorial
Complex in the Lendalfoot village (Scotland). This event was
arranged with organizational and financial support of the Varyag
Cruiser Charity Fund (President – M.V. Slipenchuk) and METROPOL
Group of Companies.
The feat of the Russian sailors inspires deep respect and
admiration. Their names are engraved forever in the history of our
Motherland. The monument opened on the Scottish land in 2007
immortalized the feat of the Varyag cruiser crew – an example of
care and respect for our history, admiration of our grandfathers’
heroism.
The opening of the monument in 2007 was an international event,
reminding the world once again about one of the glorious chapters
in the history of the Russian Navy. Over the past years, the Varyag
sculpture memorial has become one of the main landmarks in
Scotland. Tourists from all over the world come here to pay tribute
to the memory of the immortal deed.

occasion and once again expresses its sincere appreciation to all
who contributed to the opening of the monument, to all indifferent
people who cooperate with the Varyag Cruiser Charity Fund for the
