Moscow City Duma gives final approval to Moscow General Development Plan until 2025, including plans for the Metropolia business district

On May 5, 2010, the Moscow City Duma in the third and final reading adopted the General Development Plan for Moscow until 2025, which is Moscow’s main city planning document for the next 15 years.

The General Development Plan includes Metropol Development Group’s plan for the business district Metropolia. The construction will be done on 21 hectares on the premises of the former Moskvich Automobile Factory, which, according to the documents, is a multifunctional public zone. In compliance with Moscow’s General Development Plan and the Rules of Land Use and

Development, the maximum height of the buildings will not exceed 120 meters.

Envisaging the construction of over 1.5 million square meters of commercial and residential real estate just 3 km from the center of Moscow, the new ultra-modern Metropolia business district is one of Metropol Group’s most ambitious projects. The concept is based on a symbiosis of business, advanced technologies and a unique environmental space. The Japanese company Nikken Sekkei, a major architectural and engineering company, has been hired to work on the ambitious project.
