METROPOL Group management conducts negotiations with Deputy Minister of Natural Resource of Canada

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources of Canada Gary Nash paid a business visit to METROPOL Group’s office on October 8, 2008, where he met IFC METROPOL Deputy General Directors Natalia Annenskaya and Ilya Okhtyrsky.
During the negotiations, the two sides discussed the prospects of cooperation between Canadian and Russian mining, and particular polymetals, companies. The meeting’s participants noted that the field of dialogue between Russian and Canadian mining market participants was expanding.  They also highlighted improving efficiency in their cooperation during the exchange of experience in fields like national legislative practices, modern geological survey and extraction technologies, and investment mechanisms.
The meeting’s participants also discussed topical questions concerning the agenda of the upcoming Russian-Canadian Mining Dialogue, which will be held in November 2008 at the G. V. Plekhanov Saint Petersburg State Mining Institute.  The East-Siberian Metal Corporation is an active annual partner of the Russian-Canadian Mining Dialogue.
The two sides expressed a readiness to expand their contacts during the implementation of investment programs that are conducted within the frameworks of Russian-Canadian Mining Dialogue’s further expansion.
