METROPOL Group is a large holding with

as stock brokering, asset management, consulting, commercial
banking, non-financial investing, mining, setting up industrial
holdings, real estate and running a network of tour agencies.
The Group’s main holding is IFC METROPOL. As a
brokerage IFC Metropol can trade shares on the largest Russian and
international exchanges. It offers management and financial
consulting services and other investment opportunities. IFC
METROPOL is consistently a leading Russian brokerage by volume on
the Russian Trading System stock market. The volume of our
transactions in 2006 was about $ 20 billions. The National
Association of Participants in the Stock Market (NAUFOR) rated the
company as very high reliability with positive forecast with an AA+
grate.
The Group has representative offices in some of
the world’s leading financial centers: Metropol (UK) Ltd, Metropol
(France), Metropol (China), Metropol (Cyprus) Ltd, and Metropol
(Japan). Metropol’s international presence lets it foster
cooperation between Russian and foreign industrial and investment
companies. METROPOL Group’s goal is to maintain its Russian roots
while becoming an international financial and industrial
holding.
OBIBANK, a commercial bank, offers a full
spectrum of financial services. On results of 2006, OBIBANK has
entered into one hundred of the most dynamically developing banks.
On January 2007 the bank has made 240,6 % of its growth in 2006,
the pure actives reached 9355,3 million roubles and showed an
impressive growth in comparison with previous year, having
increased in 3,4 times, while pure actives of the 200 largest banks
have grown in 2006 for 47,75 %. It has allowed OBIBANK to take
place the 140th place in the second hundred of the largest Russian
commercial banks on this parameter. The size of the own capital
practically hasn’t changed and is estimated in 430,9 million
roubles.
METROPOL ASSET MANAGEMENT was established for
retail clients and is among the top twenty asset management
companies in Russia in terms of net assets managed. The National
Association of Participants in the Stock Market (NAUFOR) rated the
company as highly reliable with an A- grade. The annual yield of
the pension accrual fund was 24,4% in 2006. AM METROPOL founded one
of the Russia’s largest closed-end real estate investment fund
(CERIF), called METROPOL Olymp. At that point, this fund amounted
to 7 billion rubles.
MBC RESOURCES is an international mining
consortium that was founded to develop metals deposits in the
Russian Republic of Buryatiya and build infrastructure there. The
company possess 47 % of total Russian zinc reserves and 24 % of
total Russian lead reserves.
The Group also works in the real estate market
through METROPOL DEVELOPMENT that manages assets worth more than
US$ 500 mn. Among the company’s main actives are complex of
industrial and office buildings of the former plant Moskvitch (more
than 300 000 m2), management of the projects on building of
multifunctional trading office complexes in Moscow (about 150 000
m2), management of the project on building of business centre in
Ulan-Ude (17 500 m2). In 3Q 2006, together with AM METROPOL the
company founded one of the Russia’s largest closed-end real estate
investment fund (CERIF), called METROPOL Olymp. At that point, this
fund amounted to 7 billion rubles.
The leasing company MBC LEASING, that showed
over 78 % of the increase of the gainful enclosure in the tangible
assets in 2006. The company possesses upwards of 1 billion rubles
of the financial asset in the securities of the external
agency.
The Group also includes Travel Agency Network
METROPOL EXPRESS that offers all kinds of travel services. In 2005,
its airline ticket sales reached $4.1 mn.
Insurance provider of the Group is MBC GARANT.
In the nearest future, the company plans to increase its charter
capital to create a full-range of insurance products and expand its
insurance coverage.
