The Baikal Harbor (Baikalskaya Gavan) Special Economic Tourism and Recreation Zone is presented in the village of Turka (Republic of Buryatia)
On July 10, the village of Turka (Republic of Buryatia) hosted
the presentation of the Baikal Harbor (Baikalskaya Gavan) Special
Economic Tourism and Recreation Zone, whose residents include the
Putnik LLC Siberian travel agency which is part of METROPOL Group
of companies.
METROPOL Group of companies intends to implement a major
development project in its efforts to create the Baikal Harbor
Special Economic Tourism and Recreation Zone. As official
Baikal Harbor resident, the company plans to build a
multifunctional all-season tourism complex on Turka’s Baikal shore
that includes the following facilities: a congress center with a
unique convertible stage for hosting all types and levels of
events; a harbor station with birthing facilities capable of
accepting all existing and potential types of craft being used
around Baikal; the Fishing Village (Rybatskaya Derevnya) complex,
which will include hotel rooms, exhibition areas, eco- and
agro-tourism amenities, as well as trade and entertainment
facilities; a world-class yacht club with a full range of services
that meet generally-accepted yachting service standards; and public
services and amenities that range from embankments, promenade
areas, and a lighthouse to a miniature garden and modern and
environmentally-safe engineering infrastructure
facilities.
The presentation was attended by Russian Federation Finance
Minister A. L. Kudrin, Republic of Buryatia President V. V.
Nagovitsyn, Republic of Buryatia People’s Khural Chairman M. M.
Gershevich, METROPOL Group of сompanies Head M. V. Slipenchuk, B.
D. Tsyrenov – who serves as General Director of the Putnik Sibir
travel agency and as Deputy General Director of MBC Corporation –
as well as Baikal Economic Conference delegates, senior Eastern
Siberian District and Special Economic Zone Administration (RosOEZ)
representatives, businessmen, artists, celebrities, and federal and
regional media representatives.
The Group includes six battery plants and business units developing and introducing new technologies, and distributing products.
