October 7th, the delegation of IFC «METROPOL» took part in the meeting of the Committee on Law, Banking and Finance of the European Business Congress called «Liquidity Management in large corporations» in Biarritz
The Head of IFC «METROPOL» M.Slipenchuk and representatives of
the company, Arthur Plaude (the Managing Director of the debt and
derivatives department) and Hawk Sunshine (Deputy General Director
of Investment Banking) took part in the meeting of the
Committee on Law, Banking and Finance, European Business Congress
«Liquidity Management in large corporations» in Biarritz,
France.
The event began at 10 am in the conference centre “Palais
Imperial”. It began with an introduction by the Head of the
Committee, Vice–Chairman of the Board – Head of Finance and
Economics Department of «Gazprom», A.Kruglov. After which members
of the Committee held a series of presentations in the global
problems of liquidity management. A.Plaude, Managing Director of
the debt instruments and derivatives of IFC «METROPOL» gave a
presentation entitled «the Strategy of Liquidity management in the
face of uncertainty in financial markets» in which he shared with
other top managers the key mistakes of the worlds major
corporations in the implementation of liquidity management
strategies, and also he talked about the features of hedging in a
high uncertainty in the global financial markets.
Among the other speeches and presentations were «good practices
in creating business models in liquidity management» (P.Veirs, Head
of Global Transactional Banking, “BNP Paribas”), «Control and
regulation of transactions in international capital – intensive
energy business» (A.Bernini, Chief Financial Director of “ENI”),
«Liquidity Management: the choice of priorities» (T.Zamaldinov,
Deputy Chief of Finance and Economics Department, Head of Treasury,
«Gazprom»)
