METROPOL Group of companies representatives presented the Baikal Harbor (Baikalskaya Gavan) Special Economic Tourism and Recreation Zone project to the Russian Hotel Management company (the ACCOR Group)
On July 30, the Territorial Administration of the Republic of
Buryatia’s Federal Agency for Management of Federal Economic Zones
(RosOEZ) hosted a meeting between METROPOL Group representatives
and Philippe Bone, Development Director of the Russian Hotel
Management company, which is part of the ACCOR Group.
The meeting included a presentation of the Baikal Harbor
(Baikalskaya Gavan) Special Economic Tourism and Recreation Zone,
as well as a discussion of issues concerning hotel business
development and the potential construction of a hotel center in the
city of Ulan-Ude.
A. P. Dumanov, who heads the Territorial Administration of the
Republic of Buryatia’s RosOEZ, took part in the negotiations.

METROPOL Group’s participation in the Baikal Harbor project
The Putnik LLC Siberian travel agency, which is part of METROPOL
Group of companies, is a resident of the Baikal Harbor Special
Economic Tourism and Recreation Zone, which is located the Republic
of Buryatia.
METROPOL Group intends to implement a major development
project in its efforts to create the Baikal Harbor Special Economic
Tourism and Recreation Zone. Specifically, the company plans
to build the following facilities in the Baikal-shore village of
Turka: a congress center with a unique convertible stage for
hosting all types and levels of events; a harbor station with
birthing facilities capable of accepting all existing and potential
types of craft that are being used around Lake Baikal; the Fishing
Village (Rybatskaya Derevnya) complex, which will include hotel
rooms, exhibition areas, eco- and agro-tourism facilities, as well
as trade and entertainment facilities; a world-class yacht club
with a full range of services that meet generally-accepted yachting
service standards; and public services and amenities that range
from embankments, promenade areas, and a lighthouse to a miniature
garden and modern and environmentally-safe engineering
infrastructure facilities.
The Group includes six battery plants and business units developing and introducing new technologies, and distributing products.
