Representatives of the Russian-Turkmen Business Council joined the Russian delegation accompanying the President of the Russian Federation D. Medvedev on his official visit to Turkmenistan.
The President of the Russian Federation D. Medvedev held an
official visit to Ashgabat on July 4-5, 2008 on an invitation from
Turkmen President G. Berdymukhammedov. A series of meetings and
negotiations were staged in the course of the visit involving
Russian-Turkmen Business Council Chairman I. Okhtyrsky and the
Council’s Executive Director S. Garichev. Special attention was
devoted to the fuel and energy complex cooperation. Participants
analyzed the implementation of the Joint Declaration on the
Pre-Caspian gas pipeline’s construction, which was signed last
year, and the development of existing gas transmission capacities
in the Central Asian region.
President D. Medvedev noted that a number of Russian companies have
already established a strong foothold on the Turkmen market – ones
like Gazprom, Itera, KamAZ, Stroytransgaz, TMK and many others –
which means that the broadest of prospects exist for establishing
new and very successful joint projects.
The Group includes six battery plants and business units developing and introducing new technologies, and distributing products.
