METROPOL Group Organizes and Sponsors the Opening of Russian House Cultural Center at the First World Martial Arts Games in Beijing

The Russian House Cultural Center was opened on August 29, 2010 in a ceremony at Friendship Hotel in Beijing with the organizational and financial support METROPOL Group. The Russian House is a traditional communications venue arranged at international competitions for its visitors to learn about national cultures, to talk with the Games winners, runners-up and participants, and to take part in various activities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Russia’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China S.S. Razov, Co-Chairman of the Russian Union of Martial Arts and Head of Rosatom State Corporation S.V. Kirienko, famous Russian martial arts fighter Fedor Emelyanenko, heads of the SportAccord International Organization, international sports federations, and the Beijing Games Organizational Committee, as well as high-profile politicians, sportsmen, and journalists.
On August 2, Head of METROPOL Group, President of the Russian Kyokushin-kan Karate Do Federation М.V. Slipenchuk and Fedor Emelyanenko participated in a ceremony held at the Russian House to honor Russian winners and runners-up of the World Martial Arts Games.

The First World Martial Arts Games are held in Beijing from August 29 to September 3, 2010 under the auspices of the SportAccord International Organization and under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee. The program of the Games, which bring together sportsmen from sixty countries, includes thirteen Olympic and non-Olympic kinds of martial arts and combat sports. The Russian team is comprised of sixty sportsmen, who have successfully passed qualification tests and received invitations from international sports federations.
