On September 20 relay race Square Mile Relay had been organised by news agency Bloomberg in the centre of London in which representatives of financial institutions participated. Participants were offered to make up a team of 10 persons, each of them had to run 1 mile (about 1.6 km).
Totally, 100 teams, among them: ABN AMRO, Bank of America, Barclays Bank, Bear Stearns, Ernst&Young, Pali International, Octagon, etc, toed the starting line. The public gave warm encouragement to out team throughout the distance which was dresssed in the stripped vests symbolizing relation with the legendary cruiser "Varjag".
