Delegation of METROPOL Group of Companies Takes Part in Session of Coordination Committee Under Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian President in Siberian Federal District

On 8 April 2011, the Hall of the Buryat Government in Ulan-Ude hosted a session of the Coordination Committee Under the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian President in the Siberian Federal District for Investment Projects in the Republic of Buryatia and Zabaikalsky Territory V.A. Tolokonsky.
The session was attended by V.V. Nagovitsyn, President, Prime Minister of the Republic of Buryatia, R.F. Geniatulin, Governor of the Zabaikalsky Territory, L.M. Berlin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Region, S.M. Zhiryakov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Zabaikalsky Territory, K.Yu. Petukhov, Acting General Director of OJSC Siberian Interregional Distribution Grid Company.
The session discussed the development of the republic’s program aimed at creating favorable conditions to attract investments into the republic’s economy, the investment project for the creation of the Special Economic Zone Baikal Harbor, as well as tourist clusters in Buryatia in general.
I.A. Okhtyrsky, Deputy General Director of IFC METROPOL, General Director of MBC Corporation, addressed the session with a report entitled “Presentation of Mining Projects of MBC Corporation”. He spoke on the progress of development of Ozernoye, Ermakovskoye, Nazarovskoye and Kholodnindskoye deposits.
Mr Okhtyrsky’s speech spurred great interest. In his turn, V.A. Tolokonsky expressed his support for the project and stressed that “Buryatia and the Zabaikalsky Territory have great potential, which should be used to the fullest”. He also said about his intention to hold a meeting and negotiations on this subject in Moscow.
