Representatives of METROPOL Group participate in state reception of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the Russian Federation
An official reception of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic
of the Congo in Russia, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the
independence of the country, was held on July 6 at the Moscow
Martial Arts Center. METROPOL Group helped to organize the
event.
The reception was attended by ambassadors of African, European
and CIS countries, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, including Deputy Minister Alexander Saltanov, and Russian
business people interested in participating in investment projects
on the African continent.
In his address, Head of METROPOL Group Mikhail Slipenchuk said
that METROPOL plays a significant role in bringing Russia and the
DRC closer. For example, in 2008 in Kinshasa the company founded an
investment bank called Mining Bank of Congo, which is the first
Russian bank in Africa with 100% Russian capital.
An important event in the relations between the two countries
was a business forum called “Investment Cooperation Forum: New
Horizons” held in the DRC in May 2010, which demonstrated the
growing interest of Russian companies in cooperating with the DRC
in various areas of the economy.
