France’s largest state-owned transportation and logistics company to prepare proposals for participation in construction of the Ozerny Mining and Processing Plant

S.N. Garichev, Deputy General Director of MBC Corporation and Jean-Louis Demeulenaere, Deputy CEO of Geodis Group, Knight of the Legion of Honor of France, met yesterday at the 15th TransRussia International Exhibition on Transport & Logistics.

The two executives discussed the possibility of Geodis RUS (Geodis’ Russian subsidiary) participating in the construction of the Ozerny Mining and Processing Plant (Republic of Buryatia, Russian Federation). The potential areas of cooperation span a wide range, including working out logistics and transportation-and-customs schemes for industrial equipment to be delivered to the plant.

This was the second meeting between MBC Corporation and Geodis (the first one was held last January), but this time the negotiations were at the highest administrative level of decision-making, which demonstrates the great interest the French company is showing in participating in the construction of the mining and processing plant at the Ozerny deposit. The upshot of the meeting was that Mr. Demeulenaere instructed his company’s Russian subsidiary to begin actively drafting proposals on the work to be done at the construction site.
