METROPOL Group took part in the Fifth Convention of the Buryat Association for Cultural Development (BACD) that took place in Ulan-Ude on 10 June
B.D. Tsyrenov, Vice-President of the Fund for Protection of Lake
Baikal, represented METROPOL Group at the convention that was held
in the Opera and Ballet Theatre. He made a speech on METROPOL’s
activities in the Republic of Buryatia.
In his speech, Mr Tsyrenov stressed that METROPOL Group has
essentially become a part of the republic’s life and has closely
and deeply integrated not only into its economic life, but also
into its cultural and social affairs. METROPOL contributes to the
comprehensive development of Buryatia and promotes the preservation
and multiplication of its ethnic and cultural heritage. In
conclusion Mr Tsyrenov noted the timeliness of the initiative put
forth at the convention to establish a non-profit special-purpose
capital fund for cultural development under the BACD. “We are
confidently beginning our cooperation with the BACD by a new,
innovative charity program and hope this cooperation will benefit
our unique republic”, said Mr Tsyrenov. He also said that M.V.
Slipenchuk, Head of METROPOL Group, made a generous donation to the
BACD with his own funds. This news was greeted with applause from
the participants.
